Scott Freeman
Scott "The Music Man" Freeman
Vocals, Guitar, Percussion

Scott received a B.S. from The Jones School of Business at SUNY Geneseo & completed his Graduate studies at The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvannia. He has been in the Investment Consulting industry for over 25 years and is a Vice-President & Senior Wealth Advisor with Merrill Lynch. Scott's passion for performing started at age 6 and has led him to various musical theater, jazz, and big band ensembles throughout his life. He has been involved in various aspects of the performing arts his entire life - from being a photographer & graphic designer for industry legends Frank Sinatra, Barry Manilow, Paul Anka & Neil Sedaka, to being an owner/operator of Popeye's, McGirk's Irish Pub, and OnQ at Depot. Scott has also had the opportunity to perform in Jazz Clubs in Binghamton, Chicago, NYC, Miami, Dublin, & Berlin.  He is also the Founder and Music Director of the annual Binghamton Jazz Festival at Julyfest.
Burt Mueller

The Scott Freeman Band is pleased to have Bruce “BURT” Mueller as their Music Director and Lead Guitarist. Burt graduated from Potsdam College with a degree in Classical Guitar and completed his MBA at Binghamton University.  Burt is the principle arranger for the band and works closely with each band member to achieve a polished and professional sound. He is recognized by other musicians as one of the most talented guitarists in the area. Having played guitar for over the last 20 years with such acts as Brotherhood, and The Promise, Burt now teaches orchestra in the Union-Endicott Schools.  He can also be seen and heard as half of “Johanna & Burt” with Johanna, a singer/songwriter with whom he performs regularly.  


Igor Goodwill

Igor is originally from the USSR (The Russian Federation). His fascination of the piano started at the age of 6 and he was determined to be a "child prodigy". He was schooled under the watchful eye of the Russian Governement for 16 years. He graduated from the prestegious Kazan State Conservatory with a degree in Music Performance. For the next 15 years, he traveled extensively throughout the Soviet Union and performed over 600 concerts a year! In 1995, he and his wife Natasha emigrated to the United States and lived in Florida for many years. Igor had the opportunity of performing in some of the finest hotels, restaurants, nightclubs that Florida has to offer. In 2010, they decided they had enough of beautiful weather and were looking for weather closer to Siberia, so they ended up in Binghamton, NY. SFB is pleased to have Igor to be a part of the SFB family. In addition to his duites with the full 10 piece band, Igor can also be seen regularly as a solo piano act, or with Scott and Burt or with the rest of the SFB Ensemble.

Ken Ketchum
Ken "The Animal" Ketchum

Ken hails from the Northern Broome area where he now is owner/engineer of Ketchum Multimedia, a full service video and sound production company.  Having studied drums with Tony Monforte throughout his high school years, Ken plunged headlong into the busy working band scene of the 70’s and quickly became the Drummer/Band Leader of John David’s Other Mood.  Later called The Promise, this amazingly diverse and highly accomplished Dance/Party band performed every week for nearly 30 years.  Together, Ken’s musicianship, love of technology and years of under-the-gun experience have resulted in his becoming one of the area’s most respected and sought after Sound Engineers.  In addition to playing with SFB, Ken is half of duo Jack B’s Dirty Martini, and ‘relaxes’ playing with originals/recording band Company Man. Ken and his wife Nancy also own Castle Tower Alpacas, a farm specializing in grey and black huacaya alpacas in Castle Creek, NY."

Jeremy Corcoran

Jeremy received a degree in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam and an MM from Ithaca College. He currently teaches Elementary Band, and conducts the High School and Middle School Jazz Bands in the Waverly Central School District. Jeremy has been the saxophonist with many bands over the years including The Sam Pallet Band, The Blue Velvet Big Band, Malentundu, and the Nick Mancini Project. In addition, Jeremy is a very accomplished composer and frequently arranges the horns' music for the Scott Freeman Band. He currently resides in Apalachin, New York with his wife Denise and daughter Lydia.

Nate “Boom Boom” Kaiser
Guitar, Bass, Violin & Viola

Nate is originally from the Buffalo, NY area and then pursued his musical dreams by attending Ithaca College, where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Music Education. He then went on to complete his Master Degree in Education at Elmira College. For over 10 years, Nate has performed with numerous Jazz groups and string ensembles such as: Tony DeSare,  ANN Jazz Trio and  eNeRJee Jazz Trio. He also is a huge audio-phile and boasts a very impressive collection of  jazz, classical and other genres of music. When not picking and grinning one of his many stringed instruments, Nate can be seen hiking, biking, dirt biking or occasionally having the opportunity to cheer for his beloved Buffalo Bills.


Robin Alpaugh
"Rockin" Robin Alpaugh

Robin is a graduate of Broome Community College and Binghamton University with a Master’s Degree in Political Science.  He began playing with the Jazz Exchange at the Music Box in Johnson City as a student at BCC.  After graduating from BU, Robin served as the Alumni Director at BCC's 50th Anniversary.  Robin is currently a Senior Project Manager at Empire State Development.  As a dedicated alum of BCC, he continues to perform with the Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Exchange. Robin's other interests include collecting and driving classic cruisers, home renovation and restoration projects, and volunteering at community events.
 

Mike Slattery

Mike is a physician with United Health Services who speciaizes in sleep disorders. He graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine, completed his residency at Tufts New England Medical Center (Psychiatry & Neurology) and subsequently completed his Fellowship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, MA. Mike has a passion for music, especially Jazz, Blues and Rock. He has participated in multiple Jazz groups in the area including the Broome Community College Jazz ensemble, The Jazz Exchange, and The Blue Velvet Jazz Band (Tenor, Alto, and Baritone Sax).  Mike is thrilled to be a part of the Scott Freeman Band.



Jim Meckley
Jim "Gramps" Meckley
Alto Sax, Clarinet

Jim was born in York, Pennsylannia, where he attended public schools and started playing clarinet in the fourth grade. He graduated high school from Valley Forge Military Academy, Wayne, Pa. in 1967, graduated from Mansfield University, Mansfield, Pa. in 1971 and then completed his graduate work at Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY in 1976. Mr. Meckley taught in public education for 34 years in New York State and retired from teaching in 2006.  After college, Mr. Meckley served 6 years in the New York State Army National Guard, has played in over 50 school and community musicals, has guest conducted All County and Area All State Bands throughout New York and Pennsylvania and has been active as an adjudicator, manual chairperson and Zone Representative for the New York State School Music Association.

Vic Merrill
Vic "Mr. Chops" Merrill
Trumpet & Vocals

Vic grew up in the Greater Binghamton area & graduated from Greene High School with a John Phillip Sousa scholarship and graduated from Hamilton University with a B.S. in Business Management. He graduated from the US Army Element School of Music and  toured with the 282nd Army Band, Fort Jackson from late 1986- December 1991. He had the unique opportunity to perform for both President Regan and President George H. W. Bush. Also gigged outside the military touring NC, SC and GA, with several groups including: Cross Current, The Don Boyd Orchestra, Gene Dykes Jazz Band, and his personal favorite The O' Kaysions . Vic also played with The Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus as well as the Shrine Circus. He is currently employed as an outside Sales manager with Sanico and resides with his family in Johnson City.
